| i talked with the summer students this morning, but i think i needed to hear what i said, more than they did.
We're part of something big. Not a work we're doing, but a work God is doing.
3 men were found doing the same thing. When asked what they were doing they responded differently...
person 1 said: "I'm laying bricks"
person 2: "I'm building a wall"
person 3: "I'm building a mighty mansion"
We're not just here to learn language and culture- though we will come away with siginifcant knowldge and a unique experience.
We're here to be part of God's work
But we're not just here b/c there are people who have never heard...
And we're not just here, b/c people are reponding to the message...
We're here, part of a work God is doing, that is impacting the whole world... we're building movements!
Building movmements everywhere, so that every person knows someone who truly follows Christ!
This is exciting stuff!
And what He is doing here, well it will have impact on the whole world.
It's not just come and go... it will be lasting... and it won't just be
a small little thing- it is expanding.
Yes, God is at work, and we can join Him.
And He lets us have impact- through prayers, through proclaiming Christ. What a privilege indeed. And how exciting it is!

| One of the highlights of my year...
what's not to like?
1. breaking down trees
2. burning stuff
3. peeing in the woods
Seriously...
1. conquering mountains
2. exploring God's creation
3. Experiencing adventure in a part of the world few have
Of course the main reason were the significant conversations i had, plentiful time alone with God... and a lot of good food.
this is a goat i fed...

some buddhist worship in the snow...

and some of the scenery...

| Not only are we hoping to share & see a lot this week, we are playing sports.
This week is kinda like a glorified field day at the unviersity- but it
goes all week long- honestly, i don't mind not having class...
It has given us opportunities to meet new people, but also harder to
have significant conversations with them or our older friends...
i ran the 100 m... i finshed last in my heat... but apparently 12.6
seconds was good enough to qualify for the semi's... unfortunately, i
didn't think i had done that well- i guess my group was faster than
others... i just thought i was slow and was blaming it on the fact that
i'm old- ten years older than everyone else running...
i also ran the 400 m. i didn't stop in the middle, and didn't collapse
at the end, which i guess is really all i was praying & hoping for-
especially considering i couldn't stand straight all week...
So... the week has been fun at points, tiring often, and not as productive as hoped.
Whenever i see a person who i think would be fun to hang out with and
could be an influencer- i find they have too much fun to ever study
english...
but, i do have to say... Nate Ardle is the man!

| Angie led us in a devo yesterday and leading us toward mustard seed week- or faith week. (similar to killing the giants week).
We are trusting God for big things, meeting daily to pray and taking steps of faith on campus.
Faith like a mustard seed to move mountains- we are trusting God to move mountains this week
We want to see ten people make decisions for Christ
We want to see one minority come to Christ
We want to make contacts with each of the 5 main minorities on campus
Please pray with us. And pray for my back. i can barely stand straight these days...

| Lately, I have just
been bored. Nothing satisfies me. Tv shows, movies- boring. Ministry-
unexciting. People- annoying.
Of course the
lesson is- nothing will satisfy me but God. If I am seeking satisfaction,
fulfillment, joy in anything outside of God- I will be disappointed.
I guess now it is
a matter if I will dwell on boredom, or dwell on Christ…
Give me one pure
& holy passion
Give me one
magnificent obsession
Give me one
glorious ambition for my life
To know and follow
hard after You
To know and follow
hard after You
To grow as Your
disciple in the truth
This world is
empty pale and poor
Compared to
knowing you my Lord
Lead me on and I
will run after You.
Lead me on and I will
run after You.
